Hostinger

If you were using Hostinger and did not take action in time, you may have already noticed limitations in the renewal of services or access to technical support.

Fortunately, you still have time to find solutions to keep your sites up and running. Here at Eprisma, we have analyzed these situations and want to share with you recommendations that will help you make the right decisions.

What happened with Hostinger in Venezuela?

In June 2024, Hostinger, one of the leading web hosting and domain providers, announced that it would stop operating in Venezuela due to unilateral sanctions imposed by the United States. This news, which impacted thousands of users in the country, marked a before and after for those who relied on the platform to keep their projects online, leaving many with the concern: What will happen to my website and my data?

It has not been an easy situation, but we have worked on clear options to adapt, move forward and take advantage of this challenge to optimize the digital presence of our clients.

Now we will share with you the solutions that we have already tested and that could be useful for your website:

First option: Change the address registered in your domain.

If you have an address outside Venezuela that complies with Hostinger's terms, this can be a quick and easy solution. However, it is not ideal in the long term, especially if we consider that these restrictions can be extended or changed.

Second option: Migrating your website

The most solid and strategic alternative is to migrate your website to another hosting provider that is not subject to similar penalties. When exploring options, it is important to evaluate factors such as:

The stability of the provider
Technical support
Compatibility with the technologies used by your site.

At Eprisma we have worked with robust hosting platforms, and one of the ones we always recommend is Amazon Web Services (AWS). We have had the opportunity to develop important projects for our clients using AWS, and the experience has been excellent. This platform not only offers a reliable and scalable infrastructure, but also advanced tools that can take your website to the next level. If you are looking for hosting that guarantees long-term stability and security, AWS is an option worth considering.

Our final recommendations

The process of migrating to a new provider may sound complicated, but it doesn't have to be. With the right advice, you can make a smooth transition, without losing data or disrupting your site's operability. In addition, this can be an ideal time to optimize technical aspects, such as loading speed or the security of your site.

Good planning is key. Before migrating, be sure to make a complete backup of your data. Evaluate your site's specific needs, from disk space to processing requirements. And, of course, don't hesitate to consult with experts who can guide you through each step.

Hostinger's closure in Venezuela is a reminder of how dynamic the digital world is and how important it is to be prepared for unexpected changes. While the news may have been discouraging at the time, it also opens the door to new possibilities. With the right tools and a strategic approach, this challenge can become an opportunity to strengthen your digital presence and take your project further.
